Dani Wilder is a Texas-raised, Portland-based filmmaker, musician, and playwright. She is hyper-fixated on the tension between trans women as they are portrayed in popular culture and trans women as they exist in reality. At the intersecting point of genre and experimental filmmaking, she struggles to reconcile the past as a means of imagining an alternate future.

Her first narrative feature film Gloriohio had its public premiere at Portland Institute of Contemporary Art in April 2026 and her theatrical work has been produced at The Tank NYC and the Fischer Center for the Performing Arts. She holds a B.A. in Film & Theater from Bard College and an M.F.A in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest of Art. Her sophomore feature film Spirit is currently in pre-production.
